Šiame straipsnyje aptarsime tiesinės paieškos algoritmą. Paieška yra tam tikro sąrašo elemento suradimo procesas. Jei elementas yra sąraše, procesas vadinamas sėkmingu, o procesas grąžina to elemento vietą; kitu atveju paieška vadinama nesėkminga.
Du populiarūs paieškos metodai yra linijinė paieška ir dvejetainė paieška. Taigi, čia aptarsime populiarią paieškos techniką, ty linijinės paieškos algoritmą.

Linijinė paieška taip pat vadinama nuoseklios paieškos algoritmas. Tai paprasčiausias paieškos algoritmas. Linijinėje paieškoje mes tiesiog pervažiuojame sąrašą ir kiekvieną sąrašo elementą suderiname su elementu, kurio vietą reikia rasti. Jei atitikmuo randamas, grąžinama prekės vieta; kitu atveju algoritmas grąžina NULL.
Jis plačiai naudojamas ieškant elemento iš netvarkingo sąrašo, t. y. sąrašo, kuriame elementai nerūšiuojami. Blogiausiu atveju linijinės paieškos sudėtingumas yra O(n).
Veiksmai, naudojami įgyvendinant linijinę paiešką, išvardyti taip:
- Pirmiausia turime pereiti masyvo elementus naudodami a dėl kilpa.
- Kiekvienoje iteracijoje kilpai, palyginkite paieškos elementą su dabartiniu masyvo elementu ir -
- Jei elementas sutampa, grąžinkite atitinkamo masyvo elemento indeksą.
- Jei elementas nesutampa, pereikite prie kito elemento.
- Jei masyve nėra atitikties arba paieškos elemento nėra, grąžinkite -1.
